Due to findings during a bridge inspection today (February 11), the Route 671 bridge over Crigger Creek in Wythe County will close to traffic this afternoon.
BRISTOL – Due to findings during a bridge inspection today (February 11), the Route 671 bridge over Crigger Creek in Wythe County will close to traffic this afternoon.
The bridge was restricted to one lane due to deterioration on one side, but today’s inspection found further deterioration that requires closure to ensure safety.
Motorists will use Route 612 (Dry Road) and Route 749 (Cedar Springs Road) to detour, a distance of approximately eight miles.
Replacement of the bridge is currently scheduled to begin in August and wrap up in March 2027.
Motorists should pay close attention to detour signs.
