Traffic Alert: A portion of Route 631 in Patrick County will be closed to through traffic for a bridge replacement

SALEM – Weather permitting, beginning Monday, May 4, a portion of Route 631 (River Road) will be closed to traffic in Patrick County 1.16 miles from Route 671 (Raven Rock Road) to 0.06 mile from Route 735 (Boyd Hollow Road) for a bridge replacement over Ararat River. 

Weather permitting, this closure is scheduled for completion by Friday, May 15.

During this time, a detour will be in place to assist the traveling public by using Route 735 (Boyd Hollow Road) to Route 823 (Spring Branch Road) to Route 631 (Doe Run Road).

Motorists should pay attention to signs and electronic message boards that will be posted to alert drivers to the changes.
