Traffic Alert: New traffic signal to be activated on Peters Creek Road at the Roanoke County Career Center in Roanoke County

SALEM - A new signal will be activated at the intersection of Peters Creek Road and Alpine Road at the new Roanoke County Career and Technology Center.

Beginning Friday, August 7, electronic message boards will be in place on Peters Creek Road to alert drivers to the upcoming new signal and change in traffic pattern.

On August 10, the new signal will be set to flashing yellow to alert drivers to the upcoming signal activation on Monday, August 10. The new signal will remain in flashing yellow mode for 48 hours before becoming fully operational on Wednesday, August 12.

Drivers are reminded to use caution due to this new traffic pattern. 

The new signal was installed by Roanoke County Public Schools as part of the construction project of the new Roanoke County Career and Technology Center to support traffic accessing the new facility. The Virginia Department of Transportation will maintain the signal.
