Bristol – The right lane on Route 19 northbound is closed between Brumley Gap Road and the John Douglas Wayside area near Abingdon due to a large boulder that has entered the roadway. The left northbound lane is open to traffic as crews work to remove debris and assess the road.

Heavy rain attributed to the approximately 10-foot by 10-foot by 25-foot boulder coming loose. Crews will assess the site once the debris is clear to ensure no other rocks may come loose.

Drivers should be alert to signs and message boards.
