Be alert to signals controlling traffic on Route 72 in Scott County

BRISTOL – Due to a sinkhole that has formed on Route 72 approximately ½-mile north of Route 675 (Midway Road) in Scott County, one-way traffic is being controlled by signals at this location.

Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin repairs soon and anticipate the work taking approximately one month to complete.

Motorists should pay close attention to work zone signs and other traffic control devices along Route 72.
