Scheduled for July 15 - 16
BRISTOL - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) advises motorists of an upcoming temporary closure of the I-81 southbound exit 10 on ramp in Washington County due to ongoing construction work.
The closure is scheduled from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, until approximately 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, to facilitate a traffic shift within the work zone between exits 10 and 7.
During this period, drivers should anticipate changes in the traffic pattern near exit 10, where southbound traffic will shift to the left.
Motorists are urged to stay alert, follow all posted signs, and exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.
This project is part of the I-81 Corridor Improvement Program (CIP) to unlock I-81 by enhancing safety and reliability, reducing congestion and supporting economic growth. The nearly $4 billion CIP includes 65 construction projects plus operational improvements along the 325 miles of I-81 in Virginia. Find out more at Improve81.org.
