Information meeting and comment opportunity scheduled for Project Pipeline studies (Russell County and Richlands)
Wednesday, December 17 at Southwest Virginia Community College (4 - 6 p.m.)
BRISTOL—This month, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold an information meeting to review two studies: one for the intersection of Route 19 and Alternate Route 58 in Russell County, and one for Route 67 at the Route 460 exit 2 ramps and along Front Street/2nd Street in Richlands.
Both studies will review safety alternatives, congestion, and methods to keep traffic flowing smoothly. The Richlands study will also evaluate the feasibility of reconfiguring a portion of downtown streets along Front Street and Second Street.
The drop-in meetings will be held together on Wednesday, December 17 from 4-6 p.m. at Southwest Virginia Community College, located at 724 Community College Road in Cedar Bluff.

This is the second round of public engagement for both studies, with the first study surveys held in Spring 2025.
This study is being conducted as part of the Project Pipeline program, which was created by the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB). Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia.
