Information meeting and comment opportunity scheduled for Project Pipeline study in Abingdon

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold an information meeting to review a study for Route 75/Cummings Street from the Interstate 81 exit 17 ramps to Bradley Street in Abingdon.

BRISTOL—This month, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold an information meeting to review a study for Route 75/Cummings Street from the Interstate 81 exit 17 ramps to Bradley Street in Abingdon.

This study will review safety alternatives, congestion, and methods to keep traffic flowing smoothly.

The drop-in meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 17, from 4 – 6 p.m. at EO Regional Workforce and Child Development Hub, located at 300 Towne Center Drive, Suite 20, in Abingdon.

A study survey for Abingdon is available February 13 – 27, 2026, at the following link: https://publicinput.com/br-25-01alts.

Citizens can go to https://vaprojectpipeline.virginia.gov/studies/bristol/br-25-01/ to review the study information and find the survey link. The survey will remain open through February 27.

This is the second round of public engagement for this study, with the first study survey held in Spring 2025.

This study is being conducted as part of the Project Pipeline program, which was created by the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB). Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia.
