Public hearing scheduled this month for two roundabouts in Bristol
Wednesday, December 10 at Virginia Middle School (4-6 p.m.)
BRISTOL —This month, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public hearing to review location and design plans for two proposed roundabouts in Bristol: one at the intersection of Route 11 (Lee Highway) and Euclid Avenue, and the second at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Moore Street, Oakview Avenue and Birch Street.
The open house/drop-in format public hearing will be held Wednesday, December 10, from 4-6 p.m. at Virginia Middle School, located at 855 Piedmont Avenue.
The project includes constructing a single-lane roundabout at each intersection, along with new sidewalks and crosswalks. During construction, temporary detours will be in place to safely construct portions of each roundabout.
The public meeting website includes information regarding the meeting and a place to provide comments: https://publicinput.com/x54211.
At the public meeting, there will also be an opportunity to use virtual reality tools to view the design from the perspective of a cyclist and pedestrian.
