Road closure scheduled for Route 604 (Poplar Creek Road) in Buchanan County

Beginning July 8 and lasting approximately eight weeks

BRISTOL – Beginning July 8, a temporary closure will be in place for a portion of Route 604 (Poplar Creek Road) in Buchanan County due to the construction of new Corridor Q: Route 460/121 Poplar Creek Phase A.

The following changes will occur July 8 and will last approximately eight weeks:

  • Route 615 (Hoot Owl Road) will serve as the Route 604 northbound detour.
  • Southbound traffic on Route 604 from Route 460 will use Wonderland Road as a turnaround.
  • Stable Drive will not be accessible from Route 604 from the north. Traffic traveling south along Route 604 from Route 460 will need to detour to access Stable Drive by traveling across Route 615 or north along Route 604 from Poplar Gap.
  • Wonderland Road will not be affected but will be inaccessible from Route 604 from the south.

Motorists are advised to pay close attention to signs directing traffic around the area while the Route 604 closure is in place.

The closure is necessary to continue construction of Corridor Q: Route 460/121 Poplar Creek Phase A, a four-lane, undivided, limited access highway located between Route 460/121 Hawks Nest section and Poplar Creek Road. Poplar Creek Phase A is approximately three miles long.
