Flaggers to control traffic around the clock July 16 through 21
SALEM — Beginning July 16, drivers should expect possible delays at the intersection of Route 904 (Starkey Road) and Route 679 (Buck Mountain Road) in Roanoke County. Construction has been underway on a new roundabout at this intersection since spring.
Starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, flaggers will control traffic at the intersection and will continue around the clock weather permitting until the evening of Friday, July 21. Crews will be grading and replacing a section of pavement in the work zone.
Message boards will be posted to alert drivers to the change in work hours and possible delays.
The roundabout project is expected to be completed in late 2023.
