SALEM – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) invites the public to attend a design public hearing for a project to replace a damaged drainage pipe along a section of Route 52 (Fancy Gap Highway) in Carroll County.
The hearing will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at VDOT’s Hillsville Residency Office, located at 239 Virginia Street in Hillsville. The hearing will be held in an “open-house” format, and VDOT representatives will be present to answer questions.
The project involves replacing a damaged corrugate metal pipe with approximately 265 feet of 42-inch-diameter plastic pipe with two access locations. The pipe is located on Route 52 near the Fancy Gap Post Office and carries an unnamed tributary of the East Fork of the Little Reed Island Creek. The project location starts 0.03 mile north of Route 996 (Foggy Ridge Lane) and extends to 0.07 mile north of Route 996.
