I-81 Southbound Exit Ramp to Temporarily Close Wednesday at Route 33 Interchange
Exit ramp will be closed for installation of a drainage structure.

STAUNTON — The exit ramp from southbound Interstate 81 to eastbound Route 33 (East Market Street) at the Exit 247A interchange will be closed for installation of a drainage structure from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
Digital message signs will advise motorists of the ramp closure, and detour route signs are already in-place.
- Southbound I-81 motorists who need to reach eastbound Route 33 can take Exit 247B, turn left on South Carlton Street, left on Reservoir Street, left on Eveleyn Byrd Avenue and then left on Burgess Road. Motorists can then return to Route 33.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
