STAUNTON – Part of Route 631 (Union School Road) in Rockbridge County is scheduled to be closed to through traffic for about three months beginning Monday, August 7. This closure will allow the Virginia Department of Transportation replace a bridge over a Kerrs Creek tributary. The location is just east of the intersection with Route 631/638 (Muddy Lane).
Local traffic on Union School Road will have access to properties on either side of the work zone. Through traffic will detour as follows:
The Route 631 bridge replacement is scheduled for completion on or about November 9, 2023. All work is weather permitting.
