Route 644 in Clarke County Closed for Bridge Work April 6 – May 1

VDOT crews will replace part of the bridge over Borden Marsh Run.

STAUNTON – A portion of Route 644 (Stonebridge Road) in southern Clarke County is scheduled to close April 6 through May 1 for bridge work. Virginia Department of Transportation crews will replace part of the bridge over Borden Marsh Run.

Route 644 will be closed to through traffic, and drivers will detour using the following roads in Clarke and Warren counties:

  • Drivers east of the closure will go south on Route 624 (Milldale Road), west on Route 639 (Ashby Station Road) and then north on Route 658 (Rockland Road/Sugar Hill Road) to return to Route 644.
  • Drivers west of the closure will go south on Route 658, east on Route 639 and then north on Route 624 to return to Route 644.

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
