Route 720 Bridge Over Middle River In Augusta County Closing for Maintenance December 19 – 22

The closure allows contractors to resurface the concrete bridge deck.

STAUNTON – The Route 720 (Morris Mill Road) bridge over the Middle River in Augusta County is scheduled to be closed from 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, through 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22. The closure allows contractors for the Virginia Department of Transportation to resurface the concrete bridge deck.

The following detours will be in place:

  • Eastbound traffic will go south on Route 833 (Trinity Point Road), east on Route 254 (Parkersburg Turnpike) and then north on Route 612 (Frog Pond Road) to return to Route 720.
  • Westbound traffic will go south on Route 612, west on Route 254 and then north on Route 833 to return to Route 720.
