Bridge repairs scheduled for I-81 northbound at mile marker 9

BRISTOL — Due to additional repairs to the Interstate 81 bridge at mile marker 9 over Old Dominion Road in Bristol, traffic will be restricted to one lane Wednesday and Thursday nights (Jan. 18 and 19) from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. nightly.

Emergency bridge repairs to a portion of the bridge deck were completed Tuesday night. During the Tuesday night lane closure, other portions of the bridge deck were reviewed and crews found additional concrete repairs to address.

Motorists should use caution in the area and be alert to signs and message boards.
