The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is holding a second information meeting for the Piedmont Avenue Bridge Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study.
BRISTOL - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is holding a second information meeting for the Piedmont Avenue Bridge Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study.
A drop-in information meeting will be held Tuesday, April 22 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Bristol Train Station, located at 101 MLK Jr. Boulevard in Bristol, Va. A survey is available through May 2 at the following link: https://publicinput.com/piedmontavenuebridge
Additionally, The Bristol TN/VA Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will be holding an open house at the same date, time and location as VDOT to seek input from the public to help guide development of the Bristol Multimodal Transportation Plan. The MPO’s plan will be used to inform policy decisions and future investments in pedestrian, bicycle, public transportation and freight projects throughout the region.
The goal of the Piedmont Avenue Bridge PEL Study is to identify a build alternative, which will inform the next stage of the environmental review process. VDOT staff will be on hand to share study information, answer questions, and listen to comments from those in attendance.
A PEL Study is a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) early planning process that integrates transportation planning with environmental review earlier in the project’s development, prior to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.
This is a drop-in session, so participants are invited to visit any time during the scheduled meeting.
