BRISTOL - Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are prepped and ready for a second round of snow this week, scheduled to arrive in the region midday Friday.
With the potential for 3-6 inches of snow in southwest Virginia, VDOT is encouraging motorists to prepare for the storm today to avoid travel during winter weather. Fewer vehicles on the road allow plow drivers the space to do their jobs most effectively.
Motorists are encouraged to check travel conditions along their entire route. In Virginia, visit 511.vdot.virginia.gov or use the VDOT 511 app for road and traffic conditions.
Local updates about conditions in VDOT’s Bristol District are posted on X, formerly Twitter, at @VaDOTBristol. Visit VDOT’s winter weather page for more information about winter weather preparations and response.
