SALEM – Weather permitting, beginning Monday, March 2, drivers can expect flaggers controlling alternating traffic through a 1.2-mile section of Route 58 as part of the Vesta project in Patrick County.
The two-lane road flagging operation will be on Route 58 between Route 764 (Mountain View Drive) and Route 758 (Willis Road) from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day until Friday, March 6. Drivers may experience delays or seek alternate routes.
Motorists should pay attention to signs and electronic message boards that will be posted to alert drivers to the changes.
This work will primarily consist of tree work as part of the Route 58 Vesta project that started in fall 2025. This $235 million project involves widening approximately 4.5 miles of Route 58 in Patrick County from two lanes to four lanes. Final completion of the Vesta section of Route 58 is anticipated in fall 2031.
